Valentine Cameron Prinsep (British artist, 1838-1904)


Valentine Cameron Prinsep, often known as Val Prinsep,was a British painter of the Pre-Raphaelite school.
Born Calcutta, India, 1838. His father was a civil servant in India and the family moved to England on his retirement. A minor figure in the Pre-Raphaelites, although he exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy. He was also a writer of plays and novels. And member of the Artists Rifles. Died Welbeck House, Welbeck Street.
