Guido Bach (German, 1828 - 1905)

Guido Bach was a watercolour painter who specialized in portraits and genre mainly of Italian village subjects. He was born in Annaberg, Austria and studied at the Academy of Arts in Dresden where he was a student of Julius Hübner. In 1862, Bach moved to London where he would remain until his death. He exhibited mainly at the Royal Institute, but also at the Royal Academy and Grosvenor Gallery.
