Gustav Klimt (Austrian artist, 1862-1918) - The Golden Art Nouveau

Gustav Klimt and Austrian Landscape Painting

The Sunflower
During the golden age of Art Nouveau, the opulent works of this artist’s “Golden Period”, reveal shapes and ornamentation blending together to form uniquely sensuous compositions. The Nouveau Art movement in Austria was called the Secession. Gustav Klimt was its founder and president from 1897 to 1905. His painting The Kiss is a symbol of Vienna Secession.
