Brouillet Brouillet - French painter born 1857- died 1914

 Pierre-Andre Brouillet Andre Brouillet was born in the French village of Charroux in 1857. He begon studying engineering before entering the Academy of Fine Arts where he was a pupil of Jean-Leon Gerôme. During his career, he has garnered numerous awards in exhibitions. Influenced by this master Gerôme, Brouillet indulges in Orientalist painting. In 1906 he was made an Officier in the Legion d'Honneur. Party on a icy road to rescue a convoy of Belgian refugees, December 6,1914, he was struck congestion and died a few hours later.
